Is this the only reason why she thinks her milk has 'gone'? Well, the
supply may have dipped (because of her illness) but there is no reason to
think it is permanent or will lead to a total drying up.

The measures you have suggested are sensible, but the main thing - over and
above anything herby or anything else - is to have the baby close to her
and respond to every feeding cue without 'pushing' it. And lots of
reassurance.

I get many calls from mothers who are scared they are drying up. When there
is nothing obvious (like the baby has been having an increasing amount of
formula, for instance) and things have just been carrying on as normal,  I
am always highly suspicious at the 'diagnosis' ...the lack of fulness
between feeds is physiological beyond the newborn stage, anyway, and can
happen quite suddenly.
