Jane,

I believe I have read or heard Jack saying that if mom is asymptomatic
and baby is not bothered then white patches in the baby's mouth can be
ignored. Jack, are you online now? If so am I misquoting you?

Does a baby with white patches but no problems (eating well, no diaper
rash, not experiencing an uncomfortable level of gassiness) who has
failed to be "cured" with nystatin and gentian violet AND whose mother
is not showing signs of ductal yeast NEED to be re-treated or advanced
to stronger (diflucan) meds? Comments anyone? It is a constant
battle to find the appropriate middle ground and problems with candida
strains resistant to nystatin/diflucan do exist and seem to be
worsening. Are we part of the problem?

Remembering that candida is a normal flora at some level,
Carla
