On the subject of the child who was having intermittent constipation and was
an older nursling. This struck a familiar cord with me my youngest Maddy is
now 4. I have repeatedly commented that she was getting to be a real big
girl now and sense she could now go to the bathroom like a big girl (BIG
Mistake!) that she was getting too old to nurse. Well this has recently
brought comments from this dear child that I am mistaken about her age she
is not 4, but 3 and will remain that age because she needs to nurse. ( We
have also had a couple of episodes where she seems to be having accidents.)
Nursing does such wonderful things to soothe and comfort her if she is tired
or stressed out. It truly renews her spirit. We are down to once a day at
bedtime, and she only nurses for just a few minutes at most. Unless she gets
hurt or isn't feeling well. Which isn't often, she has never been sick
enough to need any kind of medication or even a trip to the doctor. Maybe
this child is just wanting to remain a baby just as Maddy does, but isn't
yet able to vocalize it.
