I heard something disturbing today and I'm hoping the collective wisdom of
Lactnet can point me to the source of this information or prove it utterly
and completely false.

A Finnish OB-GYN said in an article (in a pro breastfeeding magazine) that
breastfeeding does not reduce a woman's risk for breast cancer if she has
her first (breastfed) baby after her 30'th birthday. He cites no research to
back up this info and this is the first time I hear such a comment.

Is there research to validate this statement and if so, can I have the name
of the research/author?

Thank you in advance.

Anna from Finland
student midwife, breastfeeding support group leader
