Remember Murphey's law that states if something can go wrong, it will
(Paraphrasing that!). My grandson has been nursing wonderfully, growing and is now
cooing, smiling and interacting. Nursing is starting to be on a rhythm of about
every 2 hrs with one 3-4 hour stretch of sleep, usually at night. My daughter
and son in law decided to go visit his parents, who do not support
breastfeeding, attachment parenting etc and is very vocal about it. So Stacy has been
worried about the visit. She called this AM and said her "perfect baby" changed
overnight and is today nursing every hour and refuses to let her put him down.
Plus he is very gassy. I told her to relax and tell her mother in law that
the pediatrician said that gas is just a society problem (thanks Dr Jack) and if
she gets too overbearing to excuse herself and go to the bedroom and tell
them that the baby is getting too overstimulated. I imagine Hunter picked up on
Stacy's nervousness. She was so hoping he would put on a show for those
grandparents, but not this kind. She wondered if the gassiness could be what she ate
yesterday--eggs, toast and juice for breakfast, salad and water for lunch,
salad, potato, and fresh fish for dinner. She did drink a cola at dinner but only
one. Nothing jumps out at me that says gas. So I think it is nerves.
