Does this refer to those oh-too-many times when you've just settled into the
rocking chair with a glass of juice, a good novel, and a hungry baby, and 1)
the phone rings or 2) the doorbell rings or 3) the timer on the stove goes
off or 4) the older children want something or 5) all of the above? No.....

Henrikson, M.L., G.A. Wall, V.E. McClurg, and D. Lethbridge
1993 New diagnosis: Interrupted breastfeeding. Nursing Diagnosis
4(3):114-118. Jul-Sep, 1993.

Abstract. Interrupted breastfeeding was approved by the membership to be
added to the NANDA taxonomy in 1992. The diagnosis was developed to name
the response that occurs when a breastfed baby cannot be put to breast for
some or all of the feedings. Two examples of life processes/events,
premature or sick infant and maternal employment, illustrate the application
and use of the diagnosis. Nursing interventions for each situation are
discussed. A comparison describing the differences between interrupted
breastfeeding and ineffective breastfeeding is included to address the
controversy of whether or not the diagnoses are the same. A sample
diagnosis/care plan is added to demonstrate use of the diagnoses in clinical
practice.

I would say that's a fairly useless abstract!!
