I think we are all in agreement that Ann's baby deserves a real medical
work-up regarding the FTT problem. My original point was... why wait? I
view this "let's get her off the breast and see what happens" as similar
to the discrimination that overweight people experience in the medical
world. For every problem it's "take a few pounds off and then we'll
see..... if you have less chest constriction, less asthma, less joint
pain." An obese friend of mine alerted me to a movement among overweight
folks to demand equal treatment...... "No, doctor, I want you to work me
up just as you would if I were at my ideal weight." They have stories to
tell about the lives they have saved with this line.

I am suggesting that, in the case of breastfeeders, we will need to do
the same until breastfeeding stops being blamed for eveything that goes
wrong. And, until the medical community is educated as to the
discriminatory nature of doing a full work up on one baby with a problem
and then telling the other to wait a couple months while fooling around
with the feeding schedule. At 13 months, another month without
management of the underlying problem for a FTT baby is a serious matter.

Just my opinion,
