Hi all,
First, after reading the archives I realize there is some debate on the
issue of tandem nursing and nursing through pregnancies. I really do not
want to start that up again, but I have a question. I know we are not
supposed to use this as a personal forum, so I was so excited to have a mom
contact me with a question I needed to know for myself. We are both nursing
twins and are pregnant. I have 21/2 yr olds who still nurse 5-6 x per 24
hrs EACH. EEK Hers only nurse 4 times or so each. Hers are 15 mos.
Assuming the baby(s) are born while twins are nursing, do the same milk
supply and who nurses when rules still apply with twins as toddlers? She
intends to continue nursing as do I (I however hope the girls wean close to
the end of this pg and my nipples are already SO uncomfortable.). I tandem
nursed before but children were only 16 mos apart, this is new for me too.
Anyway, I could not find anything I had not already heard about tandem
nursing in general, but nothing with twins. Also, there was a comment about
birth defects, a response, but could not find a consensus. What is the
current thinking. Is nursing during pregnancy linked to birth defects?

Thanks.

addition of #6. Florida, USA
