I shared Naomi's story about the toddler who didn't know what a bottle was
and tried to make a phone call with it, with a friend and colleague here.
She told me this one about her daughter, before she weaned.
"When Anna was 3 and in daycare, there was an assistant in her room she was
especially attached to. The assistant had had a baby and came to the
daycare for a visit, with her newborn. When I came to get Anna that day, I
was pulled aside by the teacher, who said Anna had reacted strangely, and
would neither speak to nor look at her favorite assistant. That evening I
finally got to hear the reason: "She sat there giving her baby a boob and
she didn't even ASK if I wanted any!"

Seems a lot of Lactnetters' children have led a sheltered life. My own
daughter's ignorance of what formula was, led to her (5 year younger, but
better oriented) brother's immortal response: "Oh, it's just that breastmilk
forgery."
