One of the most effective means I use for detecting food allergies in bf
babies is to determine which foods their mothers consumed in large
quantities in pregnancy. I have long seen clear anecdotal evidence that
babies are sensitized in their mother's pregnancies to certain foods. I
recently read of research which indicated that babies with frequent hiccups
in utero are babies responding with an allergic reaction to foods their
mothers consumed.
