i have type 1 diabetes and have been on an insulin pump for 14 yrs.  the whole issue with diabetes and breastfeeding is to keep your blood sugars as normal as possible by frequent checking and she will do fine.  i breastfed my last (baby #5) for over 2 years. :-)
