Thanks for responding, Sue.  Do you find that the babies are content
to be taken off the breast during a feed? I ask because I see babies
getting very upset at being interrupted, but I can understand that a
baby who is already unhappy about a strong flow might not mind so
much.

And, do you give the mothers information about other ways of dealing
with oversupply if it persists beyond the first week or so, such as
full drainage and then keeping baby on one side for a few feeds, as
described in Gonneke's article about it?

I'm still interested in hearing from others who have used this
technique solely for bringing up a burp in babies presumed to be gassy
from swallowing air.
