Since I've been just scanning a lot of this list lately (summer- time
relatives have arrived in FL!), I missed out on what started the long-term
thread.........though I did see the post about reading a tag number from
far away...............I'll brag on my nursling's accomplishments anytime!
She nursed for over 9 months exclusively, and then went on for quite a
while after that, though at about 3yrs we were down to naptime and bedtime,
and most morning wakeups, gradually losing the naptime(had to cut off her
naps or we were up till 2am) and bedtime, leaving just morning wake-up
time. She nursed till 4 yrs, 4 wks, and interestingly, that is exactly how
old I was when my little brother was born. The bragging on her health,
intelligence, and accomplishments could get boring, but I'll oblige anyone
privately if you desire the information. We attribute it to good genetics,
excellent prenatal diet, including only fresh mountain trout the first
month because we were camping when I conceived and that was the ONLY food I
could keep down!, breastfeeding, and a good diet since solids were
introduced. Country air and homeschooling contributed too!

I know this isn't very scholarly, but since we get so many comments from so
many people about how unusual our daughter seems, we can't help but feel
the long-term nursing had a lot to do with it!
