And if you buy the book, Yasmin... buy the newest edition, the 2009-one! ;-)
Sigh... all those good books that get new editions and that make you
curious, especially when you read and loved the older versions...
Where to find the financial resources (let alone time!) to replace them...?!
hahaha
And to stay on topic... read work from Michel Odent. I heard him in October
in Bad Wildbad, Germany.
I have several books from him on the shelve and was glad to finally have to
opportunity to hear him, while he's still among us.
The man is 81 now, but still extremely bright and philosophical and still an
out-of-the-box-thinker.
Incredible, how he was a 'troublemaker', a visionary in his younger days and
has proven himself to be so right!
You know what he said and what made us all laugh...?
"Science has been very valuable the last fifty years. They have found out
something we never knew before... a baby needs its mother!"
He's a genius when it comes to birthing physiology. Almost scary, to think
how many interventions have become common (not normal!) in that essential
part of procreation.
Good luck with your preparations; once you dive into the material, it's easy
to get overwhelmed and collect way to much interesting stuff for the alloted
time! ;o)

Bye,

supply.

Hi Yasmin! Great topic. I heard Linda J. Smith speak on this topic at a LLLI
conference a few years ago. I also have a book _Impact of Birthing Practices
on Breastfeeding_ by Mary Kroeger with Linda Smith. If you are able to get
your hands on it, you'll have a great resource.
