Hi everyone, I'm one of those people who signed on several weeks ago but
have been "lurking" til now. I'm a family doctor in London, Ontario, a
member of LLL for four years, mother of two wonderful children (my 19
month old daughter is still an avid nurser!), and a member of the new
ABM.
I've been reading all of your terrific information, which has
been very helpful, especially the recent comments about when moms quit,
despite everything you've done.
One real challenge I have is for those Moms who have persistent
yeast. The traditional treatments (nystatin for baby/mycostatin cream
for Mom and boiling everything else; and GV) don't seem to work for
many. The systemic treatments - Nizoral and Diflucan are very expensive
and usually aren't an option, especially for those Moms who don't have
an Extended Health Care Plan. Does anybody have any further wisdom?
I'm not going to ILCA Conference (this year), hope everyone has
a terrific time.
Lactnet is great - only problem is now I have to add ONE MORE
HOUR! to my already exhausting life (But it's worth it!!) Bye for now.
