I have been thinking about this and finally decided to say it..... What is
the effect of giving large amounts of iron on the baby's zinc and copper
status? I have some articles at work that give a ratio of iron to zinc. If
I remember correctly, iron is not supposed to exceed zinc by more than 2
times. Iron that exceeds this can lead to zinc problems. I have seen this
in reference to pregnant women who sometimes are given, routinely, excessive
doses of iron, but have not seen it addressed regarding infants.

Also, for the record, my son's book on magnetism experiements says to crush
toasted O's cereal (only the national brand) and wave the magnet around in
the crumbs to watch the iron attach to the magnet (we haven't done it yet).
