I also went through this.  I was not going to get a Dr's note for it just for
the principle of the matter (I detest the dairk industry for the snow job they
have done to our society!).  Everyday he took in a boxed juice that he packed
in his back pack and drank it at lunch and usually gave the milk away to
another child.  I decided that if he were bringing his lunch to school they
could not make him drink milk so if he brought his own juice what the heck
could they say.
