The quesiton what would be the best profession to support breastfeeding?

Why not go for the top?

It seems that President or Prime Minister would be about the best. Especially if that president was also a nursing mother (whilst in office), and a strong advocate of flexible work practices, paid maternity leave, valuing the work of raising children etc etc.. 

Even better if she refused to work round the clock and employed some good deputies, cut the military budget and put it into some sensible life affirming things, and revised foreign aid policy to support sustainable environments.

... by the way I am talking about all countries, not just America.
