Mom came in for breastsheels for sore nipples yesterday. Had diagnosed thrush
on nipples. Using lotrimin. Baby has been treated too, but then baby got an
ear infection and went on antibiotics. After antibiotics baby got thrush
again. Now pedi tells mom he won't treat baby anymore because he is worried
about liver toxicity of new baby. Does this make sense? Mom still has thrush
and worried if baby not treated it will not go away. I told her maybe to seek
another opinion and agreed both needed treatment. Normal well newborn, full
term. Thanks. Loni Denman, RN, IBCLC
