Actually I'm am old enough to remember - my first 2 were NPO for 24 hours
and....they are both smart and not brain damaged :-) I nursed my 3rd for 2
1/2 mo :-( Then we went through milk formula, soy formula and after a
hospitalization for diarrhea ended up on meat based formula at 6 mo. He was
very allergic and at 1 year ate rice cereal, string beans, MB formula and
applesauce. Still doesn't drink milk, is smart and 6'1" Amazing how
adaptable the human body can be.

When I remember how babies had the 24 hour fast I wonder about the hype
today of sugars must be 40-50-60 and the problems this is causing. I feel
like somebody out there has lost their perspective. It is such a mess and I
just don't know how we are going to fix it :-( Pat in SNJ
