Please, if anyone out there is familiar with the Texas Medicaid HMOs, I need
to to Email me privately. I had a name from LACTNET (from last summer ) of
someone who was trying to get lactation consults reimbursed through Texas
Medicaid, but when I tried to call her recently the phone was no longer
working. I have been told that LC services are "embedded" in Medicaid so
that we cannot be reimbursed AT ALL. Not only do I not understand exactly
what that means, but I fear that it means that unqualified people are
supposedly addressing serious problems and Medicaid says "that's a lactation
consult". Please PLEASE anyone who knows the answer to this, or can give me
a lead, send me a message privately. Thanks,
libby in El Paso
