It does happen SOMETIMES!  Usually by accident!  The moms complain that they
delivered ALL NATURAL.  I try to explain to them how perfect that was for them
and their baby.  They still typically don't get it!  But yes I have worked
with moms who did come in determined to have a natural birth and it happened.
We have a labor nurse who is also a lay midwife so if that Mom has her as a
labor nurse she has a fantastic ally!  We also have a couple of midwives that are
awesome and they will tell the labor nurses to leave their patient alone and
stop offering meds and epidurals.  So it can happen, how often.....not very.
Sad but true.  It is why I am no longer a labor nurse.  My blood pressure
couldn't take it.
