FYI - check out the "Breastfeeding" article by Lisa Marasco and Jan
Barger, as well as the "To the Editor" section. Makes me proud of my
colleagues.
Just another thought about credentials. For me the initials "IBCLC" are
like my "RN". I went to school to become a nurse, but couldn't practice
as an RN until I passed my boards. I took the BSC course, while it was
in its infancy, to gain the knowledge I felt I needed to pass "the
boards" and achieve my IBCLC status. It's no different today, the
courses that people take are the "undergrad" work, the IBCLC is the
ultimate goal.
