Hi Ginger,

I also wear two hats: LLLL & IBCLC. Under both roles, when I meet a mom who is using formula, I have given info about the safest way possible to use it. That means I tell moms about using ready-to-serve or liquid concentrate until baby is 3 months old and tell them that if they continue to use formula after that point, they can switch to powder if they want. I orally give them proper preparation instructions, show them the WHO Guidelines document, which I have on hand, and tell them how to find it themselves on the WHO website.

I do not specify brands, but I definitely talk about the safest way to use it.
