I am a RNC in a level 3 NICU and also Chairperson for our Breastfeeding
Support Committee.   We are trying very hard to improve our breastfeeding
support and success for our Moms and babies.  I  read each lactnet post and
hope to gain more knowledge and insight on ways to improve our breastfeeding
rates and success.  I  am composing a questionnaire for our NICU Moms that
will address what kind of support they received for breastfeeding, what was
helpful, what was not helpful, major road blocks, etc.  This questionnaire
will be given to every Mom....breastfeeding and non-breastfeeding, initially
asking them why they choose their feeding method.  The questionnaire will be
given to the Moms at 1 month after discharge in our Neonatal Followup clinic,
if anyone has any suggestions or ideas ...I am open to all recomendations.  I
hope this may point out areas to target for improvement, I already know alot
of our weaknesses but thought maybe there are some areas I am not aware of.
