I remember reading or hearing in a lecture or conference that oxytocin
and cortisol share receptor sites and so stress could indeed inhibit
letdown because the cortisol would bind first leaving the oxytocin
ineffective. I will look for the information or notes.  Page 200 of R.
Lawerence's  Breastfeeding: A guide for the medical profession, (3rd
edition) lists cold, pain and emotional stress as causing inhibition of
the MER.
