Hi all,

LaLeche League is one of the most successful peer support groups because it
has a definitive philosophy, and is an international entity. When starting
support groups, it makes sense to use LLL Leaders, or at least LLL
expertise, since it is already working so well.

Remember, just because someone comes to a LLL meeting, doesn't mean they
have to agree with the whole enchilada of LLL philosophy. The beauty of
LLL, in my opinion, is that everyone is welcome, everyone gets the benefit
of the wonderful information and camaraderie among the breastfeeding moms,
no matter what their particular philosophy is. We have a group right now
that meets in the evenings and is dedicated to working mothers. Many moms
and babies attend.

In my opinion, more people, especially in the US, need to learn about
attachment style parenting and long term breastfeeding. The world would be
a better place if more people parented in this way. So, why not look to
LLL when looking for a peer support group model?
