Hi all,

I have a mom who asks whether it could be useful to not evenly spread the domperidone she is taking (4x10) over the day, but to focus on when she needs more milk.
She is thinking of taking the tablets closer together and skip the one before the night, because she has more than enough milk in the morning.
Two questions: could it hurt and would it be useful?
She wants to stop as soon as she can, but I already told her she may have to phase out slowly and may even notice production fall straight away.
I know that some mothers use it for longer periods: no real disadvantageous side effects known and side effects of necessary ABM if production falters are know.
How do the risks relate to one another, in your opinion? Swift responses will be greatly appreciated.

Warmly,

Marianne Vanderveen IBCLC, Netherlands
