Hi,
Just an anecdote of one...
My second daughter, also at around 2 months or so, suddenly took a huge
upswing on the weight curve. (Too many years ago to remember the weights!)
My pedi told me I was feeding her too much. I basically told him that was
a pretty stupid thing to say and continued nursing on request. At that age
she was still nursing every two hours during the day, but was sleeping
almost 7 to 8 hours at night! She was still getting at least 8 feeds in
per day, and letting me sleep! I certainly wasn't going to change
anything. (And now, at 9 years, she is a very lean child, which she has
been since the preschool years.)

On another side, a friend has a 26 month old who weighs over 50 lbs! He
was fed expressed BM for over a year (never latched), and was always
heavy. I wonder what difference there is in what is in the bottle vs the
act of bottle feeding or nursing itself. I never saw her coax him to
finish a bottle as I see formula feeding moms do. Mom is obese herself, so
is it just genetics, or would nursing him have helped?
