A question about using the CLC credential in charting. Three hospital and
one home care nurse in our area recently took the Certified Lactation
Counselor training. Are those of you who are RNs and CLC's based in hospital or home
care allowed by your respective institutions to use these initials after
your RN? When I first became an IBCLC in 1986, I was not allowed to use the
IBCLC initials, because they were not an accepted nursing certification. As the
IBCLC credential is approved by the NCCA, I am allowed to use it now. Thanks
for any information you can give me on this topic.
