To help sell the daddies on co-sleeping, I let them know that my husband
proudly brags to all his friends who are new daddies, "I've slept through
the night since my son was born!"  Knowing they'll rarely be awakened is
reason enough for the dads to at least try co-sleeping.  

If the couple complains about lack of intimate time, they can either use
another room (what a spicy sex life to fool around OUTSIDE the bedroom?), or
temporarily put baby to bed in another room with a monitor and just bring
him back into bed with them when they're ready for sleep.

I also think that if people realized the higher incidence of SIDS outside
the family bed versus in the family bed, cribs would be outlawed!  Our
culture (heavy sigh)...
