I would rather not label all WIC sites as "just the free formula
place,"...please.

WIC employees are dedicated to helping mothers,...one person in our town
works tirelessly, often driving to the homes of those in need, to bring them
information and forms so that they can get help and assistance. Here in
Vermont, there is a WIC breastpump program where WIC moms who meet the
guidelines, ie going back to work, or school, etc, can rent a hospital grade
pump for up to one year. It is a pilot, I believe, but it has been working
very very well for the moms we have spoken to.

WIC is a complex situation.... But I keep my mind on the women and men who
work within the walls of the buildings, trying to help new mothers....make a
go of it..with breastfeeding.

Jan in our WIC office is a star.
