Environmental Working Group's instructions impact mothers who pump their
breastmilk and partially or totally bottle feed. If most US mothers'
breastmilk already contains bisphenol A and then it is fed via bottles that
leach more, it is not a good scenario. Like scientist Sandra Steingraber
says, mothers are the first habitat.

Heather is professionally and personally
committed to protecting children's environmental health. We found
four phthalates and seven PDBEs in Heather's body, as well as
bisphenol A in her blood and urine. (breastmilk levels?)

There are many reasons why a family may rely on formula for some or all of
their baby's diet. These babies need a safe and healthy source of food, and
formula should be manufactured in a way that avoids contamination with
hormone disrupting chemicals. For more detailed information about
bottle-feeding your baby, and to find out what action is being taken to make
formula safer, visit
