Thankyou Chris for that very useful information. In Australia the Human
Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission has recently come out with a paper
that looks at the universal provision of paid maternity leave. They have
asked the question as to whether adoptive mothers should also qualify. I'm
putting together a submission and will be speaking with the commissioner in
a couple of weeks. I didn't know about the recommendation on 'related types
of leave' so you've given me another thing to add in.
