Hi all,

I am a new member of lactnet. I am a pediatrician and IBCLC candididate. Took the test and waiting to hear. Sandifer's syndrome is not all that uncommon. It is just a physical manifestation of gastroesophageal reflux. The baby twists and backarches in response to acidreflux in a way that looks like a seizure but has a normal EEG. I suspect that that baby would have been helped by reflux precautions and addressing whether the mother had an overactive ejection reflex. would have been interesting to see if the baby responded to nursing more on one breast to downregulate the milk supply and using those nursing positions that allow the baby to better regulate the milk transfer.
