just a bit on very young babies from a few years ago. My gut reaction is

that the weaning will cause less rest than just nursing but there may be

other factors to consider regarding these conditions. >>

On Saturday, I was away from my 3 yr ds from 9am until 9pm. He was getting
rather cranky and had not napped. I was exhausted, as I had been at an
all-day workshop. I walked in, he climbed into my lap and w/in 5 minutes had
nursed to sleep. (Then,
I sat and held him for an hour, since I had missed him.) I think that it is
typical for practitioners to have no idea how easy nursing a child can make
certain aspects of our lives. As each of my nurslings has gotten older, there
have been so many times when I have wondered how I would handle xyz if I
couldn't nurse him or her. Has this doctor offered this mom suggestions as to
how she can mother her child in a less tiring way than bf'ing? I think this
is just one of those times where bf is the scapegoat. If the mom is exhausted
and the doctor has nothing else to offer, this may seem like the logical
solution, but sometimes things just aren't that simple.
There is a great deal of information in holistic literature on treating
CFS. Most often CFS is linked to immune suppression, likely originating from
allergies, chronic systemic yeast, thyroid deficiency, malabsorption of
nutrients and other nutritional deficiencies or environmental toxins. All are
symptoms well adressed by holistic medicine such as acupuncture, nutritional
therapy, enzyme therapy, herbalism and homeopathy. If she is interested, she
may want to read "Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia & Environmental Illness" by
Burton Goldberg and the Editors of Alternative Medicine Digest. A friend
recently had all resolution of her symptoms when she ferreted out and removed
food allergies from her diet. She is also nursing a 2 yr old.
