Did you mean "nipple shield" or "breast shell"?

Could this be a case where the mom was super-hydrated during labor and the baby is diuresing? (?spelling?) I've had so many moms describe swelling from top to toe after the birth---doesn't the baby share in the bounty of all those fluids? I'm hoping experienced wise ones (including the MD's that lurk) will chime in and comment. Thanks.
