Jayne,

When I first saw this product on the market, as a "TV Sales Only" medication,
I assumed I would, as a LLL AAPL get calls about the drug, and I had no idea
what was in it.

I was told by the phone salesperson that it was a Proprietary Secret and that
they could not tell me what was in the "drug" but that it was "natural." When I
asked about breastfeeding mothers using it, I was told it was not to be used
by a woman who was pregnant or breastfeeding.

I have since found out that this is an OTHER Snake Oil, Non-FDA
approved "drug lookalike" (if you see the bottle it comes in, it is colored and
text to look like a prescription drug) like "Enzyte" and other scams.

Seeing as the same commercial, which tells you that "this drug is MUCH TO
POWERFUL, and TOO EXPENSIVE for those who only want to lose a few vanity
pounds and only to be used by those with a need for a strong weight loss drug
and have a large amount of weight to lose" (with a frowny face on the model
who is selling it on TV) and that for a "limited time" you can buy several
months worth at the price of one month price, and this "offer" has been
available for at least 5 years, I can only assume it is meant to be sold to the
gullible and those who DO only need a few "extra vanity pounds."

I'd stay away from these Snake Oil "cures" and like the company itself advised,
it should not be used by breastfeeding women.

How many weeks or months postpartum is this mother? Is she still shedding
pregnancy weight? Does she know about the need to keep a few pounds for
breastfeeding to go well? If she is several months postpartum, and really does
have a weight problem, perhaps referring her to a safe, tested weight loss
program like Weight Watchers (who, last time the moms in my LLL group spoke
about it still had a weight loss for breastfeeding moms program) or a good
Dietitian. Also, of course, if she "can't" lose weight, her thyroid etc needs to
be checked.

Good luck.
