Yes, Norma, women with breast thrush can describe itching in the breast. I
don't know if it actually indicates healing or is just part of the
inflamation in the breast.
Certainly, a history of oral steroids will give her predisposition to
thrush.
I  wonder if it may be worth trying an antihistamine or a low-dose
tricyclic antidepressant (for its pain-blocking action) when women have had
big doses of antifungals and are still symptomatic. What do others think?
