I find mothers balk at paying the price for a full size unit SNS or Lactaid.

True, and many mothers also balk at using them, even after they buy them. I
rarely use the regular SNSs, and often use Hazelbaker fingerfeeders, even if
this means it has to be switched between breasts and one does not have the
option of three tubing sizes. If supplementation needs may be long-term and mom
has been using the FF, she is usually ready and willing to pay for an SNS ( I
refer her, I don't sell them) because by now she and the baby are not in
crisis mode, and may have also mastered the FF.

I think in the past 5 years I have had one mom use a fullsize SNS and one
used a Lact-aid. They usually abandon them in favor of paced bottlefeeding if
things are long-term, like never resolved supply issues from poor breast
development, or post-breast surgery etc. For many moms it is just too much
paraphernalia and they would rather put the baby to the breast, bare, and enjoy that
then supplement with paced bottlefeeding if needed.

Peace,
