I attended my childrens school auction tonight and at the silent auction table
were 2 cases of Enfamil donated by Mead Johnson. My question, for those of
you who know and understand the WHO Code better than I do, is - Is this
donation in violation? Is it marketing? If it is, even remotely, I will
address the ethical question of accepting "illegal" donations for an auction.
(Please send references and details if you respond) If it isn't, I will just
fume about it for a while. By the way - Each case was valued at $50. There
were no bids until 2 minutes before the table closed and a man whos wife is
expecting # 6 bought both cases for $20 each. She wasn't there and I know she
nurses, but not how much.
TIA,
Sue Reiske
