I missed the original post regarding a mom with a leaking incision after
breast surgery. 2 years ago I had a 'suspicious lump' removed from my
breast when my son was 2 months old. It was a galactocele. The
sutures/incision line ruptured as milk backed up in the surgery site
where ducts had been damaged, leaving a sinus tract a few mm's in
diameter that sprayed milk every letdown and while bf. I was encouraged
to wean by the surgeon as I was unsuccessful in stopping or decreasing
production on the affected side. I stubbornly continued to bf on both
sides wearing a wad of 2x2 gauze taped over the area. 2 weeks later
the hole appeared smaller and then suddenly closed over. End of problem
:)
I have the complete story available to anyone who would like it. Email
me privately.
