Hi Margaret,

I did see you on TLC today, I am hoping you will come join us :-)

Yes I totally hear what you are saying and we agree.

Here is why I got all excited: His comment was that usually nothing is
REMOVED. Things are only ADDED!!!! Typically we see practicioners
recommending REMOVAL, i.e. the four foods diet, instead of or in addition to
nutritional supplementation. And very seldom are we hearing that an
elimination diet is coupled with supplements. WE know that some women are
getting both but they appear to be in the minority.

This is also exciting because we have concerns about mothers going on
severely restricted diets for so long. For example, when moms go down to 4
foods for any length of time, they experience rapid weight loss. A side
effect of the rapid weight loss is the breakdown of the fat stores where
toxins have accumulated. We have speculated that the toxins may actually
cause an increase in the bloody episodes, for some women and their babies.
And some women just get plain sick from the toxic dump--not fun. Also 4
foods is a PITA. How exciting would it be to learn that we could put these
mothers on a modified but not extreme diet with aggressive supplementation
based upon a nutritional profile.

Looks like I need to go start that list, I am getting swamped with emails
privately.

Nikki :-)

Perhaps the farmer doesn't think of it as an
allergy issue because he's not actually
adding/removing any known allergens from the
diet? Even so, it could be an allergy issue, and
adjusting the mother cow's diet makes the calf
better able to tolerate (correctly identify)
potential irritants.
