I sent a posting about this yesterday, but I don't think it went thru. We're having
computer problems. Sorry if by some chance I'm sending this twice.
I usually tell parents-to-be about the time when my youngest was a baby. We all had
the most terrible gastro-flu. My husband was so ill, he was almost hospitalized.
The only one who was perfectly fine was nine-month Yael who was breastfed. This
surprises the parents who are shocked to learn that mothers with flu can breastfeed.
Two good products for preventing/and/or easing flu are:
Dolicocsil 1000 (homeopathic) which contains anas barbariae; 9CH echinacea
and 3C cuprum gluc. We all take a preventative dose once a month from Oct
(start Sept in Europe/N. America) till March.
Elderberry syrup (trade name: Sambucol) is also effective with flu. It was
developed by a Haddassah Hospital virologist. I believe the syrup is now available
in the States. It is so successful that it is being used to treat chimps at the
Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem. No kidding.
Both elderberry and dolicocsil are fine for lactating moms and also children.
