Hi all,
I always thouhgt the Dutch regulations were a bit tight, but reading the USA
troubles, I must change my mind.
In The Netherlands a working breastfeeding mom is allowed one quarter of her
daily working and payed hours to provide breastmilk for her childup to 9
months postpartum , either by feeding the child if someone brings it or -if
available- in the company's daycare or by pumping. The employer is supposed
to provide a suitable room or place for the mother to do so.
I can't untill now (I've moved to Belgium from The Netherlands not to long
ago) find any Belgian regulations for breastfeeding moms, exept for a 8 week
postpartum 60% paid leave for all new moms and the possibility to be seen as
not able to work for a period of five months postpartum if the work she is
doing or the circumstances she is working in may be harmfull to her
breastfed child. I would be interested in knowing how regulations are in
other countries. It could also be usefull for those living in countries or
states where regulations need to be *modified*.
