Is it possible for a 7 day old baby to start having yellow stools and then go back to dark brown? I am working with a baby who is not nursing enough, has dark urine, and stools every 30 hours according to mom. He is a big baby (almost 10 lbs at birth) and has lost 17 ounces, about 11-12% of birth weight. He had a brown, meconium stool when I was there. Mom swears his last bm was a yellow seedy stool two days ago at the doctors office, where she was told the stool was normal breastfed stool.

Parents were clueless, but now are feeding him more and watching diapers closely.
