Dear friends,

If I had a client like this I'd sent mom to a manual therapist or cranio-sacral therapist as quick as she can run.
The case you pictue for us is like a KISS textbook case. KISS is a German abbreviation (Kiefer Inducierte Symmetrie Syndrom) and is used for children that are traumatised during birth in a way that some of the bones and joints in the lower head-neck-shoulder area are moved, twisted or otherwise dislocated. It result is a baby that cries a lot, has a very distinct preferred position, is often arching his back into a C and has difficulties drinking and/or sucking. It often happens following a very fast birth or a very slow birth were the child has been stuck somewhere in the birthcanal or with mechanically assisted births.
Look here for more info in English: http://www.kisskinder.de/indexeng.php?mp=e10

Warmly,

Gonneke, IBCLC, LLLL in souhern Netherlands.

I don't know if you remember a case I had 3 weeks ago - baby had lost 25% of
birth weight at 3 weeks of age and when I came on, my job was (as I saw it)
to encourage feeding and pumping....
