Hig lactnetters.
Heard this on our Area News- Charlotte, NC- at 6;00. Michelin Tire Co, a
/french owned company is recalling a special anniversary book over a
racially offensive picture. In this book is a copy of a vintage 1905 ad
showing a Large breasted Black woman nursing Baby Michelin. This was
complained by the SC workers that this was racially offensive. The company
is recalling the book apologizing saying they did not think the picture
would be considered offensive. I would like a copuy of this picture. Funny
in 1905 this picture was not considered offensive; have we really come very
far. Was this truly racially offensive or was it because this woman's breast
was possibly exposed and she was nursing. Just curious. Yes I grew up in the
Deep South but never found nursing offensive. Would like some comments from
anyone who has seen this pic or ad. Also would you find this racially
offensive?

Oh well. Just figured you'd hear it somewhere.
