Are the parents given a copy of the growth chart?  It might be helpful
to plot the child's weight/height.  Describe the purpose of growth
charts to the parents.  This is not like the U.S. Grade Point Average
system - below 60% and you fail.  3rd percentile means around 3% of all
children have this head circumference at this age.

Her eating patterns sound very normal to me.  What does the physician
intend to do with his/her concerns?  Test thyroid?  Test heart function?
Test endocrine function?  These would all be appropriate.  Trying to
change a child's normal eating pattern is not.

I know a family physician who had to wait well beyond the second
birthday before her petite daughter hit the 20lb mark.  In all other
ways, this child is developmentally advanced for her age.  Her size is
below average, but so what?  She is the normal size for her.
