Hi,

Your ideas, please!

I am working with a mother who is experiencing symptoms consistent with
Candida- antibiotic use, nipple pain that continues after feedings, and deep pain
in the breast.

On 1/17/04, I shared information on Candida and various treatment protocols
from Dr. Jack Newman, Dr. Jay Gordon & Kay Hoover and encouraged her to discuss
them with her physician. On 1/19/04, he prescribed Lotrimin for 7 days.

When I talked to her on 1/21/04, she had seen no improvement and decided to
add oral grapefruit seed extract along with the Lotrimin. She called tonight to
report that since starting the grapefruit seed extract, the baby's BM's now
contain black flecks- some the size of sesame seeds, some a little larger and
stringier, distributed uniformly throughout the BM. The baby is one month old,
totally breastfed and behaving normally. The mother has not changed her diet.
Does anyone have any ideas of what is going on? I have never had anyone report
problems with grapefruit seed extract before.

Thanks!

Kathy
